In this article, we look back at celebrity and charity collaborations and list the 6 most charitable celebrities of 2013, who have genuinely made an effort to lend their name and resources for a good cause. This celebrity star has done numerous charity works for a variety of difference causes. Bieber is known for his commitment to Pencils of Promise. or Pop is a world educational organization devoted to setting up the infrastructure in countries around the world to work with 25 million elementary children who lack reading and mathematical skills.

He also initiated the Believe Charity Drive, which heaved funds from fans and album sales to give to the seven charities he supports. These organizations are Pencils of Promise, Project Medishare for Haiti, City of Hope, Boys & Girls Club of America, Musicians on Call, Make-A-Wish Foundation and GRAMMY Foundation. On his 17th and 18th birthday, he asked fans to help bring clean water to those in need by donating to his charity named Charity Water. In the past year, he donated $1 from every ticket sold in the New York City and New Jersey area to Hurricane Sandy Relief. He has also helped donate and support his hometown food bank. He even helped an Ottawa-based fan find an organ donor via Twitter. This guy surely knows how to use his voice to bring about a transformation.

Lady Gaga, who along with her mother founded the Born This Way Foundation. The foundation is all about acceptance and about building a safe and loving community where everyone is empowered to be whom they are without any shame or harm. The creative philanthropist somehow managed to throw her popularity behind donation projects. She partnered with Virgin Mobile on her Monster Ball national tour and offered premium VIP tickets to all fans who volunteered their time to homeless youth organizations. The concert alone raised more than $80,000 in proceeds and 30,000 hours of community service all used to support homeless youth. Other projects she is involved with include Green Chimneys, an organization that creates futures for children with societal, behavioral, emotional and learning challenges with specific opportunities for LGBTQ youth. Another program is Standup for Kids, which is dedicated to reaching out to counsel and guide homeless teens. She donated an impressive $500,000 in support of Haiti earthquake victims and has been proactively involved with raising awareness with young women about the risk of HIV/AIDS.


Founder of the Belief Foundation, the organization gives children a chance to not only survive but thrive in a world where they receive school supplies, medical attention, clothes and toys. The foundation is partnered with DKTS, which is an organization that helps patients of blood cancer fight for their health. In 2007, Rihanna was named Cartier’s Love Charity Bracelet Ambassador. Moreover, she used her fame to help a mother of two to find a bone marrow transplant. She also contributes to a catastrophe aid, AIDS and ecological matters. Rihanna has heaved money through concerts and has even taken the time to meet fans from charities she is supporting.



Queen B, former Destiny Child’s soulstress is not only one of the great survivors of the music industry but also someone who deeply cares about people. She has put her best foot forward by headlining the ‘Chime for Change’ concert in London for women’s rights. This foundation was created by Gucci. Their site is well worth the while as are the others.  Beyoncé’s list of contributions is huge and varied, but a significant contribution made is the Survivor Foundation that was founded with Kelly Rowland to help victims of Hurricane Katrina. The foundation’s undertakings are numerous, including the Music World Cares Christmas Carnival that facilitated over 300 low-income families to take pleasure in a fun-filled day of food fare, entertainment, a visit from Santa Claus and free gifts. Along with her husband Jay-Z, Beyonce has helped raised more than $1 million for the Shawn Carter Foundation to help children go to college. Beyoncé is also an Ambassador for the 2005 World Children’s Day, and released “Stand Up For Love,” the hymn for the event which takes place once a year on November 20th to increase consciousness and funds for children’s causes. Beyoncé bestowed a handbag to an auction benefiting Women’s Fund for Scotland and also made an effort to visit two injured people during fireworks accidents on of her concerts.

The superstar couple is involved in a variety of different projects. Together they have been involved in building new homes for residents of New Orleans who were displaced by hurricane Katrina. Through the Make It Right Foundation, they have contributed towards the reconstruction of New Orleans. Pitt recently organized a charity gala dinner with attendees like Rihanna, Kanye Wesr, Sean Penn, Snoop Dogg, Sheryl Crow, etc. for the foundation to raise money to build 150 sustainable homes. The duo support causes like adoption, fostering, organ donation, human rights, weapon reduction and many many more. While Brad is often associated with foundations like ONE Campaign, Mineseeker Foundation and Cure Autism Now, Jolie is popularly known as Goodwill Ambassador for the UN Refugee Agency. She has adopted children from third world countries and supports the rights of women in that part of the world. The couple launched the Jolie – Pitt Foundation in 2006 to assist humanitarian cries around the world and have already donated $1 million to it. The philanthropic couple also recently donated $2 million to a Namibia Charity.

And the number one position goes to the country-pop star who managed to bag the first position on our list as the most philanthropic personality. The lady recently celebrated her 24th birthday by giving gifts and not receiving. Among her good deeds include her donation of $100,000 to the Nashville Symphony that faced extreme financial difficulties this year and heading an event hosted by The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge for benefit of an organization that helps homeless youth. Swift teamed up with the Tennessee Governor Phil Bredesen to launch a campaign to protect children from online predators. She also donated $100,000 to the Red Cross Foundation in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to assist sufferers of the Iowa overflow. Moreover, she donated her prom dress, which raised $1200 and a signed guitar at the Wounded Warrior Project Benefit Dinner.
